Parksville Fire Rescue wishes to remind residents of the Parksville Fire Protection Area that all open burning and outdoor fires, excluding cooking fires, are prohibited at this time. The department also wishes to remind residents beach fires in the Parksville Qualicum Wildlife Management are prohibited at all times by provincial legislation. At this time, campfires are allowed.
The Parksville Fire Protection Area encompasses the City of Parksville and contract areas within the Regional District of Nanaimo which include San Pareil, Morningstar, Columbia Beach, French Creek, and the Fourneau Road, Wildgreen and Martindale Road areas as well as the Forever Green Estates.

Fire emergency (threat to lives and/or property) 911

BC Wildfire Service recently launched a mobile app which provides real-time wildfire information and an interactive map users can customize to display a variety of fire related data. The new app is one of many proactive initiatives undertaken by the BC Wildfire Service to give members of the public, media and stakeholders access to consistent, accurate and timely wildfire information throughout the province. This app complements the BC Wildfire Service website and social media channels and features a "report a fire" function that will automatically generate map coordinates. The BC Wildfire Service mobile app is available for Apple (iOS) and Android devices and is free to download in the
App Store and
Google Play.
