Boots for Food 2020 drive held in November was a huge success because of the generosity of residents and the coordination by volunteers with District 69 fire departments. Physically distanced and masked firefighters at our grocery stores and other locations asked residents to help fill the boots for food. Once again, our communities came through in a big way! Six fire departments raised 1,084 pounds of food and an incredible $93,051 in cash which was donated to the Salvation Army foodbank.

The 2020 Boots for Food drive for the Parksville Volunteer Fire Department was a huge success. Although different from previous years with no door-to-door neighbourhood collection, District 69 firefighters came together over the weekend to collect for the Salvation Army foodbank. Physically distanced and masked, our firefighters were at Parksville's Save-on-Foods, Thrifty's, Quality Foods and Tim Hortons asking residents to help fill the boots for food. And that they did!
